There are times when you may want to have a link that you create at the top of a content page link to a specific part of the same page or a specific part of another page on your site. To do this, you must be in the wysiwyg editor on the page you want to be the page LINKED TO.
First, at the place where you want the link to jump to, you must click with the cursor next to that piece of text. Then click the flag 
icon. Give the flag a name. Click insert.
Now to link within the same page to that piece of text, highlight any piece of text on the page that you want to jump to that flag you just setup. Click the insert a link button 
in the wysiwyg toolbar. On the left hand side of this popup box you will see a 7 links. Click the link called "Place in this document." You will see all the names of the flags you have setup on this page. Click the flag name you want to link to. Then click the insert button.
If you save your page, and go to the live website, you can test it out and see that that link you just setup will jump to whereever the flag is on the page.
Note: If you want to link to a piece of text from another page (and not within the same page), setup the flag/bookmark as told in the instructions above. Then go to the page you want to link TO the flag/bookmark.
Highlight the text you want to be the link. Click the insert a link button in the wysiwyg toolbar.
Click the name of the page you want to link to (instructions here). It will put a link in the url field. Something like /index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=1&Itemid=2. Just add the name of the bookmark to the end of it. So it would be /index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=1&Itemid=2#nameofbookmark. Then click the insert button and test it out.
