How do I add a newsflash to my site so that it will appear in the scrolling newsflash box on the frontpage.

Newsflashes show up scrolling on the front page so every website visitor will see them.

If not already logged in, login to the front-end control panel which is done by logging into your actual website (not the backend control panel).

(Note: You can also add a newsflash to the site through the backend control panel. If you are back there and it is quicker for you to do so, click here for instructions.)

Once logged in to the frontend control panel, to create a newsflash, click on Submit Newsflash from the USER MENU.

You’ll notice there are 2 fields where you can enter your announcement. One says Intro Text and the next field below it says Main Text. The intro text field is to put the first few sentences of the newsflash in.  These are the sentences that will show up in the actual scrolling newsflash box. The main text field is to put the rest of the newsflash information into that will come up when you click on the details link at the bottom of each scrolling news headline. When you put the rest of the newsflash information into the main text field, you do NOT need to re-add what you already put into the intro text field. MAKE SURE TO USE THE PASTE FROM EXTERNAL SOURCE BUTTON if pasting any text into the editor.

If you need help using the wysiwyg editor, please go here

At the bottom of the page you will see a section (or tab) called Publishing.

Set the dates you want to start and stop the newsflash in the start publishing and finish publishing field.

Once done, click the save icon save.gif located at top right of the form.
