How do I add submenu items to the main navigation bar?

Your church website is setup using a dynamic menu system. This means, when you create a page in the backend control under a category (such as "about us"), that page will automatically show up as a menu link under 'about us' in the menu system on the actual website.

This dynamic menu system only works for content pages. Plugin programs like the calendar, event registrations, ecards, etc are NOT content pages. Static content pages (those pages that dont fit under any certain category and are accessed in the backend control panel under 'content>static content manager') also need to be linked to manually.

So, if you want to add a link to your menu system, such as a static content page (a page that is not under a certain category and therefore does not have a submenu item auto generated for it) you would do the following.

Login to the BACKEND control panel, located at www.yourdomainname.com/administrator

Go to Menu>mainmenu

Lets add a content page to the resources dropdown menu.

To add this submenu item, click the New Icon new.gif  at the top right.

Choose 'link-static content' located all the way on the bottom right. This is because you want to link to a page that you put under content>static content manager (the place you put content pages that do not belong under any certain category, like 'about us', or 'ministries').

Click the next button.

Give the page a title name. This is the text that will show up in the dropdown menu.

In the static content field, click on the page you want to link to.

In the parent item field, click on resources, since thats the category what you want to put this link under.

Click save, at the top right of the screen.
